Quick & Easy Birthday Card

{Oh My word…do you know I’ve had this post sitting in “draft” status here on my blog for 3 weeks now?  Talk about Blog Neglect!  Sheesh!}

Hey there!  I told you in my last post it was my “crazy for mickey” niece’s b’day semi-recently….I made Mickey cupcakes!  If you didn’t see that post be sure to check it out!  Here is the card I made for her.  I was all wrapped up in mickey cupcake madness when it dawned on me..”oh crap!  I haven’t made her a card yet!”.  I’m a very s-l-o-w card maker.  I’m not one to rush.  I had no choice BUT to rush with this and I have to say, I absolutely love the way it turned out!

Glitter Birthday Card

I used the light cardboard backing to one of the paper packs (or something) that I had in my stash.  How cute is the black with white polka dots?  Seriously!  To get that as a backing to a product?  LOVE IT!

Since my silhouette was out and running for the cupcake wrappers I went ahead and cut out the number 3 using Kewl Script in the same red cardstock.  I then covered it in mod podge and glittered the hella fitzgerald out it. huh?

I love that glittery red 3 so much I wish I had kept it for myself!   I made a quick Mickey head silhouette in my silhouette software using circles.  Easy peasy lemon squeezy.  I cut out different sizes..most of them small so I stuck them inside the card.  But the larger one I put on the envelope.  If I hadn’t been in such a rush I would’ve written her name in white gel pen on the silhouette…but, alas, my craft area is a MESS and a pen was no where to be found.
